We guarantee court acceptance. Every filing is prepared by one of our experienced paralegals and extensively reviewed for compliance and aesthetics by a senior paralegal. Our clients are advised immediately after the receipt and review of their documents and given approximate time of completion. They are again notified to confirm filing and service.

Our staff has sophisticated insight into and knowledge of the Rules, procedures and preferences of the Court. Upon request, we will provide you our charted, cross-referenced Summary of the Rules.

Once the decision has been made, The LEX Group is here to provide you and your staff assistance in the preparation of the filing of your Petition for Writ of Certiorari:

APPENDIX:

The appendix is comprised of mandated inclusions and any other documents deemed relevant to the appeal. The LEX Group will prepare your appendix in advance of the filing date and send a copy for your review.

Some documents can be downloaded from the Internet or you may provide them to us in electronic format. If the documents are not available in electronic format, The LEX Group has the capability to scan most documents into editable text. In the even that the documents provided are not of the quality to ensure proper conversion, we offer typing and proofing services to attain proper format. Preparation of the appendix includes:

  • Scanning, converting and formatting of documents in accordance with Court specified format (4 1/8 " x 7 1/8")
  • Arrangement of documents in Court specified order
  • Pagination
  • Preparation of the Table of Contents
  • Type set cover

Compilation of the appendix is typically completed within a matter of days. Dependant on the size of the appendix and the quality of the documents, additional time may be required.

Once the appendix is given final approval, our experienced Production Staff duplicates the documents in preparation for binding into the required 6 1/8" x 9 1/4" booklet size.

PETITION/BRIEF:

In order to guarantee court acceptance, The LEX Group requests that a draft of the document be forwarded the day before filing so that a compliance review can be completed. This "pre-review" allows us to accept the final product as late as 10:00 a.m. on the morning of filing, giving counsel additional valuable time to perfect the filing. You may e-mail or send a copy of the petition on a disk.

Preparation of the petition/brief includes:

  • Formatting the document to the required margins and font specified by the Court
  • Document Pagination
  • Detailed Table of Contents
  • Blue BookŠ compliant Table of Authorities
  • Typeset cover
  • Preparation and execution of the Affidavit of Service

FILING AND SERVICE:

The LEX Group's DC office is conveniently located two blocks from the Court and offers filings via hand delivery. All counsel of record are served with date-stamped copies.
